Your Four Step Plan

Don't Panic

Don’t panic, there’s a reason your home has suffered power loss and it’s simply a process of elimination to find out the cause. If it’s dark, try to locate a torch so you can find your way around. Do not use candles. Turn off all your electrical appliances and lights, except one, so you know when the power comes back on.

Check if there has been an electrical blackout or shut down works in your area. You can call your electrical services provider to find out. In Queensland, call Energex on 13 62 62 for loss of supply, or 13 19 62 for emergencies.

Locate and check your switchboard for a tripped safety switch, circuit breaker or blown fuse. Before checking the fuses, make sure you turn off your main switch. If you don’t have a Safety Switch installed for your power and lighting circuits, then call South East Electrical today. It could just save your life!

Call us on 0412 678 357 and describe your problem to us. We will first try to guide you over the phone, to find a solution you can safely implement yourself. If this is just not possible, we’ll book a time with you and one of our emergency electricians will be onsite as soon as possible

What To Expect When You Call

When you call you’ll most likely talk to either Glenn or Leonie. Expect to be forwarded to Glenn if you’re not already talking to him. As an electrician with decades of experience he’ll want to assess your situation directly. He’ll talk you through your problem and get any information required to best respond to your problem.

Our team of vehicles are fully stocked with the necessary equipment and spares to respond to a wide range of electrical emergencies. We’ll dispatch one of our electricians who is best placed to get your emergency resolved in the best way.

Watch For Our Electricians

Remember if the power is out, your cordless phone, doorbell or intercom system will probably not work, so make sure you keep an eye out for your electrician’s arrival.
